This AmeriCorps national service position will serve in person in Darrington, WA. The anticipated term of service is January 2025 – July 2025. The Outdoor Nature & Recreation Instructor position serves to provide environmental education and recreation programming through in-school and after-school programs for elementary and middle school students. Due to insurance requirements, members must have a valid drivers license and be at least 21 years old.
Glacier Peak Institute (GPI) is located in Darrington, Washington, a small town nestled in the heart of the North Cascades. Surrounded by national forests, a national park and several wilderness areas, the region is teeming with countless outdoor opportunities. GPI seeks to empower rural youth to build resilient and sustainable communities. We do this through hands-on learning that combines STEAM with recreation and skill building (STrEaMs).
