This position works with the Chief of Police and all Reid Health Police Officers providing oversight of operations and problem solving for the police department.

To lead our communities to well-being, one person at a time. It is not just what we do – it is who we are. Overview Of Responsibilities - Performs rounding of all hospital buildings and grounds checking for safety concerns.
- Assist conducting annual security surveys of all licensed practices.
- Maintains a strong working relationship with all law enforcement, EMS, fire departments, and emergency management agencies.
- Review all police and Midas reports and assign a department supervisor to investigate and report findings.
- Specifically review all criminal investigative reports that may be presented to the prosecutor’s office.
- Notifies the Chief of Police in the event of emergency or criminal activity.
- Be responsible for arranging training, staff meetings, and the documentation for the police department.
- Oversee and manage Kronos and payroll.
- Fills in for the Chief of Police during their absence.
- Enforces hospital regulations and policies designed to prevent theft and unauthorized access.
- Assist in all emergencies inside and outside of Reid Health and Reid satellite offices.
- Assigns investigations to officers and files reports concerning irregular activities.
- Performs special assignments as assigned by the Chief of Police.
- Supports Reid Health Police Department objectives.
- Responds to security codes.
- Completes HealthStream requirements.
- Assist with patient restraints.
- Supports Reid Health policies, procedures, and mission statements.
- Participates in employee health infection control requirements.
- Responsible for maintaining the inventory of agency equipment and ordering equipment.
- Prepare and instruct in-service trainings for the Police Department or assigned department supervisor.
Education/Experience - Education Required: High School Graduate.
- Education Preferred: Associate or bachelor’s degree.
- Experience Required: Minimum of five years’ experience on a police department as a supervisor. Must be certified as a law enforcement officer acceptable by the standards established by the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy.
- Experience Preferred: A current Reid Health Police Department Supervisor.
Licensure and Certification - Must be a licensed driver and maintain driving privileges through their state of residence.
- Must have a good driving record.
- Must be preapproved for Reid auto insurance before starting employment.
- Must be a certified law enforcement officer through the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy.
Schedule Details Salaried. Monday -Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
