SloHi Coffee + Bike in Denver, CO is looking for Part-Time Baristas to join our team this summer!

SloHi is both a bicycle shop and a cafe located in the west Highlands. Twice the shop means twice the fun - at least we think so. At SloHi we want employees to feel supported and to have a space where they enjoy coming to work. We also want our customers to receive the very best service and top notch coffee. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, hard-working, loves creating connections with customers; and nerds out about all things coffee. If you nerd out about bike things too; then that's always a bonus.

Applicants should be able to commit to 16 hours per week, and MUST have weekend availability. Our store hours are Monday - Friday 7am to 3pm; Saturday & Sunday 7am to 3pm. Applicants must be available for both opening and closing shifts .

Responsibilities

• Seek to create real connections with customers
• Prepare drinks and food in accordance to company standards
• Prepare and portion some food products
• Maintain a clean and tidy work area
• Communicate thoughtfully and timely with co-workers and management
• Follow health and safety guidelines
• Maintain excellent cash handling skills
• Develop strong knowledge of all cafe food, drink, and retail items

Qualifications

• Strong desire to develop a community atmosphere
• Proven working experience as a barista (experience with weighing espresso and manual tamping) is preferred, but not required. We love the opportunity to train the right candidates.
• High integrity with a great attendance record, and reliable transportation
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong desire to keep spaces clean: washing dishes, sweeping, moping, etc
• Ability to listen and communicate effectively
• Ability to handle a fast paced work environment
• Ability to self-task; work unsupervised
• Able to stand / walk for 5+ hours and lift up to 50lbs

• Starting wage is $16.03/hr + tips. Tips are usually at least $6-10/hr.

Due to COVID-19 , we are not currently requiring employees to wear masks, but that is subject to change depending on the City of Denver's recommendations.
