BASIC PURPOSE:
The Business Intelligence Analyst will analyze data and create compelling visuals that guide strategic decisions. By working across multiple data sources, you’ll transform raw data into engaging reports and interactive dashboards. Success in this role depends on collaborating and building relationships with teams across Love’s businesses. You'll design and develop solutions to help business users identify opportunities and track KPIs, driving organizational success. This role emphasizes expertise in Power BI and effective presentation of insights to support decision-making.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Use SQL to build datasets and Power BI to create interactive web-based dashboards, keeping leadership and stakeholders informed on progress toward goals.
  • Identify, automate, and validate the extraction of new metrics from diverse data sources.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and technology teams to understand needs and design effective analyses and reports.
  • Present data using analytics and visualization tools to aid decision-making.
  • Create detailed analytical reports, translating complex data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Integrate internal and external datasets, conducting statistical analyses to uncover competitive advantages.
  • Build strong relationships with technical teams and domain experts.
  • Provide ongoing consulting and support for reporting and analytics as needed.
  • Approach project requests with curiosity and flexibility to enhance problem-solving.
  • Pay close attention to detail when debugging and resolving data issues.
  • Manage time effectively, communicate expectations, and meet deadlines efficiently.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) required; Master’s degree preferred in fields such as business analytics, mathematics, statistics, finance, economics, management information systems, computer science, or engineering.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, retail, sales, business analytics, or operations, with reporting and analytics exposure.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with Power BI visualization software for data analysis and reporting.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience writing SQL queries to extract and manipulate data.
  • Proficiency in reporting, data management, and analytics tools, with experience creating ad-hoc reports.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills for effective collaboration within cross-functional teams.
  • Understanding of visualization principles and experience in designing effective dashboards.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues.
  • Capability to create, interpret, and communicate technical documentation for training and end users.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Hard Skills:

  • Proficiency in querying data from relational databases using SQL.
  • Experience in data wrangling, cleaning, and preparation.
  • Knowledge of basic statistics.
  • Proficiency in Excel, including formulas, lookups, and pivot tables.
  • Understanding of database concepts, structures, and data manipulation.

  • Creative thinker with strong analytical, multitasking, and interpersonal skills.

Typical Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged sitting, occasional bending, and stooping.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.

  • Normal hearing and vision range required.
