About the Role

We are seeking an innovative and mission-driven Case Manager who is excited to help us build and scale a high-impact program from the ground up. This role is ideal for someone passionate about housing equity, financial stability, and family empowerment—and ready to contribute to a growing organization by helping design and refine systems that ensure quality care and strong outcomes. The Case Manager will help implement foundational processes, manage a dynamic caseload, and collaborate with partner organizations to deliver wraparound services effectively to meet the needs of each individual and family we serve. Furthermore, as FreeRent.org expands into new communities, this individual will play a crucial role in maintaining program integrity, adapting services, and expanding our impact.

Role Responsibilities

  • Case Management: Manage an initial caseload of approximately 35+ program participants, ensuring efficient tracking and individualized support plans. The caseload may increase as the program grows.
  • Client Support: Conduct intake assessments, co-create action plans, manage quarterly check-ins and provide ongoing support to participants to ensure they are on track to achieve their goals and maximize the rental assistance and additional services they receive to  achieve long-term  financial stability.
  • Program Design and  Implementation: Help define, refine and improve our case management processes, contributing insights and recommendations to enhance service delivery in alignment with our mission.
  • Collaboration & Resource Navigation: Work closely with nonprofit and social service organizations to coordinate and track comprehensive support for program participants, including financial literacy resources, workforce development programs, and other essential services.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain real-time, accurate records of client interactions, progress, and outcomes to support program evaluation and funding requirements.

Who You Are

  • A creative and proactive professional with a background in social work, psychology, counseling, public health, human services, or a related field.

  • Passionate about housing and financial stability and economic empowerment.
  • Skilled in working with people, problem solving, resource navigation, and team and community collaboration.
  • A strong communicator with the ability to engage compassionately and equitably  with diverse populations.
  • Agile and adaptable, a self-starter, and entrepreneurial – comfortable with innovation and iteration in a fast-paced setting.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in case management, social services, or nonprofit work.
  • Familiarity with rental assistance programs, public benefits, or housing advocacy is a plus .
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a small, dedicated team.
