Job Summary:

The Department of Orthopedics is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator to oversee the Orthopedic Trauma Research program at the University of Wisconsin. A primary responsibility is to coordinate multiple, ongoing multi-center clinical research studies with extra-mural funding. The coordinator will be chiefly responsible for consenting and enrolling patients for research studies and ensuring study endpoints are met including research follow-ups. The coordinator will also assist with providing data to study sponsors, and dissemination of research findings. The coordinator will work closely with orthopedic trauma surgeons who conduct clinical research. The position also involves basic research administration tasks within the department, including supporting and training medical students and orthopedic residents participating in orthopedic trauma research projects.

Education:

Preferred

Bachelor's Degree in biology, chemistry, kinesiology, biomedical engineering, or other related fields.

Qualifications:

Highly Preferred Competencies:

  • Performing human subjects research or working with patients in a clinical setting
  • Prior experience managing multiple projects, tracking progress, and meeting deadlines


Preferred Competencies:

  • Prior experience with data entry into REDCap databases
  • Managing data in Excel
  • Familiarity with HealthLink or other electronic medical record system
  • Schedule flexibility to accommodate research needs
  • Familiarity with IRB submissions, amendments, and compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards


This position may include hours outside of regular business hours based on the needs of the program studies. Successful candidates will have schedule flexibility.

Work Type:

Full or Part Time: 80% - 100%

This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.

Appointment Type, Duration:

Terminal, 12 month appointment.

This position has the possibility to be extended or converted to an ongoing appointment based on need and/or funding

Salary:

Minimum $50,000 ANNUAL (12 months)

The starting salary for each title is as follows but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

  • Clinical Research Coordinator I: $50,000
  • Clinical Research Coordinator II: $53,000

Applicants for this position will be considered for the titles listed in this posting. The title is determined by the experience and qualifications of the finalist.

University sponsorship is not available for this position, including transfers of sponsorship and TN visas.
