Job Summary
Will be responsible for monitoring and controlling various systems and processes within a designated control room environment. You will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and smooth operation of equipment and systems while adhering to established protocols and procedures. Your keen attention to detail and ability to react swiftly to emergent situations will be essential in this role.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Continuously monitor and oversee the operation of various equipment and systems within the control room, ensuring they are functioning efficiently and in accordance with established standards
• Promptly respond to alarms, alerts, and emergency situations by taking appropriate actions to mitigate potential risks, maintain safety, and minimize downtime
• Follow established control procedures to regulate and adjust equipment settings, parameters, and processes as needed to maintain optimal performance and compliance with operational requirements
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of operations, incidents, and equipment status, and report any deviations, abnormalities, or issues to supervisors and relevant stakeholders
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure seamless coordination of activities and facilitate a smooth flow of information regarding operations and incidents
• Conduct routine equipment checks, inspections, and preventative maintenance tasks to identify any potential issues and ensure equipment remains in good working condition
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical and operational issues in a timely manner to minimize disruptions and maintain the efficiency of the control room operations
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, safety standards, and company policies, providing feedback and recommendations for improvements where necessary
• Engage in ongoing training and development to stay updated on new technologies, procedures, and best practices relevant to control room operations
Requirements and Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training is a plus
• Proven experience in control room operations or a related field
• Understanding of equipment, systems, and processes relevant to the specific industry (e.g., energy, manufacturing, transportation)
• Proficiency in using control systems, monitoring tools, and computer software related to control room operations
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make quick decisions in high-pressure situations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility and accountability
• Ability to work in shifts and adapt to a 24/7 operation if required
• Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to the industry
• Ability to obtain any necessary certifications or licenses as required by local regulations or the employer
