**Responsibilities** + Prepares menu items according to standard recipes + Maintains equipment in kitchen to standard + Maintains kitchen area to state required sanitary standards + Completes all tasks on duty while adhering to safety standards and policies of the hospital **Qualifications** + Two years Food Service experience required. Cooking experience is strongly preferred. + High School Diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience. + Current (within the past 12 months) ServSafe® Allergen and Food Handler Certifications. If not currently certified, certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire. **Overview** As a Cook at St. Vincent, you will support the healing process by preparing meals and menu items for our patients, their visitors, and their caregivers. To be successful as a cook, you should be able to use various cooking techniques and methods to prepare meals that meet our customers' expectations. Ultimately, a top-notch cook should be able to handle multiple food orders without compromising on quality. You also understand that cooking for patients requires extra diligence with sanitation protocols.
