Job Description

We’re seeking a Dealer Trade Driver to assist with vehicle transportation between dealerships on an as-needed basis. Whether you’re looking for a full-time opportunity or part-time flexibility, this role allows you to choose when you want to work. The ideal candidate will have experience securing vehicles on trailers and using electronic logs (ELD) for flatbed trucks. This is a flexible position, with shifts scheduled based on dealership needs, allowing you to pick your departure times and manage your schedule. Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely drive and operate flatbed trucks with trailers to transport vehicles between dealerships.
  • Secure vehicles on the trailer using proper strapping techniques to ensure safe transport.
  • Utilize an electronic log (ELD) to track driving hours and mileage, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Communicate with management via text or phone to confirm trip details and availability.
  • Maintain flexibility with departure times, choosing when to leave for trips based on your schedule, while ensuring timely deliveries.
  • Inspect vehicles, trailers, and cargo before departure to ensure safety protocols are followed.
  • Provide excellent customer service when interacting with other dealerships or customers.
  • Ensure vehicles are securely loaded and unloaded, checking for damages before and after transport.
  • Follow all traffic laws and safety protocols to ensure safe driving practices.
Qualifications:
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Experience with flatbed trucks and trailering, including knowledge of proper vehicle securing methods.
  • Experience using electronic logs (ELD) for tracking driving hours and compliance.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule.
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate trips and updates with the dealership team.
  • Ability to lift, load, and secure vehicles (up to 50 lbs).
  • Must have a dependable phone for communication with the dealership team.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to drive for extended periods, including full-day trips.
  • Ability to load, secure, and unload vehicles (up to 50 lbs).
Working Conditions:
  • Full-Time and Part-Time Shifts Available: This is an as-needed position with flexibility to choose full-time or part-time work.
  • Trips are scheduled based on availability, with the dealership contacting you via text or phone when a transport is needed.
  • Flexible working hours: You’ll have the ability to choose departure times that fit your schedule, within the needs of the dealership.
  • Opportunity for full-time drivers to be offered consistent work, or part-time drivers to pick and choose when they are available for trips.
