Electrical Engineer/Designer

Beaverton, OR; Holland, MI

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer/Designer to join our team in the design and implementation of electrical systems for food and beverage facilities. This role involves designing electrical infrastructure, including power distribution, lighting, control systems and equipment integration to ensure optimal performance, safety, and compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver efficient and innovative solutions that meet client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design electrical systems for food and beverage facilities, including power distribution, lighting, control systems, and communications system infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations (e.g. NFPA, NEC and USDA).
  • Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and process engineers to integrate electrical systems with facility operations.
  • Select and specify electrical equipment, including transformers, switchgear, motor control centers, and distribution panelboards.
  • Develop detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and wiring layouts using Revit, EasyPower and other design tools.
  • Perform electrical load calculations, voltage drop analysis and short-circuit studies to ensure system reliability and safety.
  • Troubleshot and resolve issues related to electrical systems during the construction and operational phases.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to enhance system efficiency and reliability.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: 2 – 5 years of hands-on experience in electrical design in industrial or manufacturing facilities.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Intellectual curiosity, willingness to learn, and the desire to be challenged and grow.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • The current and continuing right to work in the U.S. without restrictions or expirations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license or willingness to obtain.
  • Experience with power distribution systems, lighting systems, and control systems for industrial or commercial applications.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit or similar design software.
  • Experience with power systems analysis and calculations including arc flash, short circuit and time-current coordination using software such as EasyPower.
  • Experience with energy-efficient designs and sustainable practices.
  • Knowledge of hygienic design principles specific to food and beverage facilities.
  • Project management experience, including budgeting and scheduling.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites for design progress meetings or construction review as required.

Oregon: This is a hybrid position in-office Monday – Thursday and remote on Fridays as needed; 7:00 am – 4:00 pm.

Annual salary range of $75-90K with generous benefits package.
