You will join a team managing the lifecycle of infrastructure and security, enhancing IBM's cloud solutions to ensure enterprises achieve efficiency, security, and scalability in their cloud journey. **Your role and responsibilities** Our Team The HashiCorp Production Safety team is responsible for ensuring platform features and changes reach our customers safely. Our focus is on enabling HashiCorp engineering, product, and design to deliver new features while limiting the blast radius of change related failures. We empower teams with production verification tooling and partner closely to drive standard release practices. About this Role The engineering manager of the Production Safety team has the opportunity to lead a globally distributed team of software engineers to grow and deliver on the team's strategic vision. The Production Safety team is responsible for products and processes that touch many areas of HashiCorp engineering, so applicants will need to excel at communication and collaboration, have product-focused mindsets, and be comfortable iterating in an agile manner towards solutions. In this role, you can expect to: * Drive strategic vision for the team. * Work with senior leadership and product management contribute to a cohesive Platform Reliability and Observability strategy. * Develop annual and semi-annual outcome focused objectives. * Guide the team through quarterly strategic goal setting and delivery. * Advocate for and tactically lead production safety. * Drive canary, feature flag, production verification strategy and culture. * Prioritize and deliver strategic outcomes. * Manage vendor contracts and relationships. * Build and grow a highly effective team. * Hire and coach a team of highly engaged engineers. * Foster healthy global alignment and team partnership. * Effectively plan, communicate, and assign work to deliver outcomes. **Required technical and professional expertise** * Led software engineering teams in customer-centric and agile organizations with empathy and compassion. * Professional experience with release strategy in cloud environments. * Owned and represented strategic scopes at globally distributed organizations. * Have a coaching centric approach to leading teams. * Experience contributing to efficiency improvements of software at scale. * Experience collaborating cross-functionally to deliver engineering culture change. * Focus on learning and personal growth as a leader. * Receive and share regular feedback. **Preferred technical and professional experience** * Familiarity with HashiCorp & IBM Products and Services IBM is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer.
