Job Description

JW Fowler is a heavy civil contractor specializing in deep water and sewer pipelines for communities on the west coast. From a small, family-owned and managed company, we’ve grown to serve the infrastructure needs of communities throughout Oregon, Washington, and California.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Maintain open communication with Foreman to ensure proper completion of project
  • Must be effective in operation of digging and grading equipment
  • Must have pipe experience, including footing drains, rain drains, water, sewer, storm, etc.
  • Ability to understand and follow grade
  • Must have experience working with subcontractors and setting up grade and prepping for curbs, asphalt, concrete, etc.
  • Maintain work areas are free of debris to ensure safety, good housekeeping is a must
  • Ensure crews fuel, grease, and maintain general operation of equipment daily
  • Understanding of soil types and knowledge of shoring, bracing, and sloping
  • Daily work plans, reports, timecards, truck tickets, etc.
  • Help ensure the safety of our team – Everyone is responsible for safety!

Physical Demands

Ability to stand or walk for long periods; use arms and hands to reach for, handle and manipulate objects; lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Climb up and down ladder, scaffolds and other objects, and carry tools and equipment. Stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl. Ability to see well and distinguish between back up alarms, voices, and other normal sounds consistent with construction job sites.

Environment Adaptability

Work inside and outside in all weather conditions and various locations. Hard hat, hearing and eye protection required when on job site.
