Title: Experiential Therapist - Yoga Therapist

Skyway Behavioral Health is an innovative behavioral health center that goes beyond the treatment of psychiatric symptoms to address underlying biological, behavioral, and psychosocial causes of psychiatric disorders. Our belief is that maladaptive coping strategies are adopted by patients for survival. While adaptive at one time or in specific ways, these coping strategies are now preventing patients from living the life they want to live. Our treatments teach patients new skills that enable them to serve as their own behavioral therapists- thereby helping them to maintain recovery and generalize skills to their home environments.

We believe that the path to recovery from traumatic stress requires a focus that encompasses not just symptom management but also the treatment of underlying individual, systemic, developmental, and familial traumas. Role Description

Yoga Therapists report directly to the Somatic Therapy Manager at Skyway Behavioral Health (SBH). The Yoga Therapist implements, facilitates, and evaluates trauma sensitive yoga-based programming in specialized treatment areas. Experiential Therapists in general will have a strong ability to plan and deliver expressive arts activities within the group setting. Yoga Therapists at SBH encounter a diverse array of patients and clinical needs, such as individuals experiencing trauma and co-occurring disorders, notably eating disorders, personality disorders and mood/anxiety disorders. Yoga therapists provide trauma-informed yoga therapy to patients and collaborate in treatment planning. Yoga therapists will exhibit strong interpersonal skills with patients and colleagues, creative problem solving, empathy, and passion for improving the lives of SBH patients.

Essential Functions/Core Responsibilities

• Implement, and deliver trauma-sensitive yoga therapy groups.
• Demonstrate ability to build rapport with patients.
• Complete progress notes, authorizations, and group notes in a timely fashion. Also completes progress notes accurately and in accordance with SBH policy.
• Responsible for providing clinical information, attending, and participating in team meetings in which patient cases are discussed.
• Maintains cleanliness and regular upkeep of yoga space.
• Establishes and maintains effective communications and working relationships with physicians, providers, and all colleagues.
• Participates in supervisions as needed and all relevant supervision as indicated by clinical programming.
• Collaborates with the leadership team in creating and sustaining a culture of compassion and healing.
• Follow policies and procedures to accomplish department-specific and organizational initiatives.
• Ensures compliance with all applicable local, state, federal regulations, and guidelines.
• Maintain completion of all competencies associated with role and in accordance with Skyway Behavioral Health policies and subsequent Joint Commission standards.
• Performs other job duties as assigned to maintain needed clinical hours .

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required, Master's Degree is preferred.
• C-IAYT preferred (yoga therapist certification).
• RYT or CYT Certification.
• Additional training in trauma-sensitive yoga and/or experience.
• 2 or more years of providing trauma sensitive yoga.
• Exceptional organization skills, reliable and timely.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills that are clear, respectful, and considerate of other’s perspective.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Clinical proficiency in treatment and documentation.
• Reliable form of transportation to work.
• Proficiency in Microsoft products (Word, Outlook, Excel), and familiarity with use of EHR systems.
• Must provide proof of fully vaccinated status for COVID-19 within 90 days of hire.
