As a Freight Agent, you will be responsible for acquiring new clients and ensuring their freight is shipped efficiently and cost-effectively.

In this role, you will coordinate shipments, negotiate rates with carriers, and maintain customer relationships throughout the shipping process. Your ability to identify the best solutions and communicate effectively will be essential in ensuring flawless operations and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Act as a point of contact for customers to coordinate their shipping needs
• Negotiate pricing and secure contracts with transportation providers
• Monitor shipments to ensure timely delivery and address any issues that arise
• Maintain an organized database of carriers and freight shipments
• Deliver exceptional customer service to foster strong client relationships
• Remain updated on the latest market trends and transportation regulations

Requirements

• Experience as a freight agent, broker, or in logistical roles
• Existing book of business
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to negotiate effectively with carriers and clients
• Proficient in logistics software and relevant technology
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks
• In-depth knowledge of shipping regulations and compliance
