We are searching for Head of Taxto oversee the tax function for a growing hedge fund.
The position is newly created, and will focus on tax structuring and planning on various investment vehicles. The Investment fund is multi strategy (equities, fixed income, derivatives, long / short) and thus tax strategy should be fitting. This will be about 70-80% of the responsibilities, with the rest of time spent on overseeing corporate tax matters relating to tax compliance & tax reporting – which is currently outsourced to 3rd party providers.
Role will report to the Head of Finance and will work closely with the Managing Directors & Portfolio Managers.

This will be the first time in 20+ years (since the firm was founded) for this tax leadership position, thus the details are still being worked out and the formal job description is in development – subject to slight adjustments as the search progresses.

Qualifications:
1) JD / LLM
2) 10+ years of relevant tax structuring / tax planning experience (preferably for a hedge fund)
3) Desire to build out a tax function from scratch, with broad responsibilities & visibility.
4) Strong understanding of alternative investment industry.
