Job Description

HomeStart Inspections is looking to grow by adding a qualified inspector to our team in Dane County. This is a great opportunity that can be a career for the right person. We provide high-end home inspections that are created using software onsite. Candidates should have experience/knowledge of the home inspection industry and houses ranging from old to very high-end houses. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated professional with excellent work and interpersonal skills, computer skills, knowledge of construction, and a desire to deliver excellence every day. Responsibilities:

  • Assist home buyers with any other requests regarding the home inspection to keep open lines of communication and adapt to meet their needs
  • Go through residential homes top to bottom to evaluate any repairs that need to be made
  • Plan with the real estate agent and the homeowner to gain access to the property for inspection
  • Make detailed notes for each home system so that the buyer and seller are both aware of every potential problem on the property
  • Write a detailed report following each inspection that includes photos and specific descriptions of any damages observed
Qualifications:
  • Familiar with basic computer software and use of email technology
  • Excellent organizational skills and multitasking skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and customer service skills are a must
  • Valid driver’s license and able to travel by car
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Has no problem with heights or confined spaces; able to evaluate roofs, crawl spaces, and attics
  • Be able to work up to 5 days/week including some weekend days per month
  • Possess excellent people skills
  • Pass a background check and routine drug screening
  • Have a clean driving record
  • Commute throughout South Central Wisconsin
