Job Title: Human Resources Manager HR Manager

Location: Ashland, Virginia

Salary: $100,000 - $125,000 base + profit sharing 

Job Summary

We are seeking a strategic Human Resources Manager to join our team in Ashland, Virginia. This role will work closely with manufacturing leadership to optimize operational efficiency while ensuring compliance with HR policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. The HR Manager will take a proactive approach to workforce planning, talent management, and employee engagement, driving a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with business leaders to drive effective budgeting, workforce planning, and succession planning strategies that align with short- and long-term goals.

  • Provide tailored coaching and consulting to empower operations and administrative leadership in performance management and workforce development .

  • Lead and execute dynamic employee attraction and retention strategies , ensuring ongoing engagement and strong organizational culture.

  • Utilize HR analytics to deliver actionable insights and clear, impactful reporting on HR and company-wide initiatives.

  • Serve as an ambassador for the organization, representing the packaging facility at community and corporate events across the USA and Canada.

  • Drive change management efforts through open communication, relationship-building, and fostering trust at all levels of the organization.

  • Advocate for continuous improvement , introducing innovative concepts and guiding teams toward achieving their objectives with clarity and purpose.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Psychology, or a related field.

  • 3-8 years of professional HR experience in a manufacturing, industrial, construction, or municipal environment.

  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance in the U.S. and State of Virginia .

  • Proficiency in MS Office and HRIS systems .

  • Leadership experience supporting a diverse industrial workforce.

  • Expertise in succession planning, coaching, mentoring, employee engagement, and culture-building .

  • Proven ability to drive buy-in for solutions and lead change management initiatives .

  • Strong ability to build and support a customer-focused, people-centric culture .

  • Experience with continuous improvement concepts to enhance workforce performance.
