Job Summary:

We are seeking an Instructional Designer to join our Learning and Development team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing effective training materials that enhance the skills and knowledge of our employees across various levels of expertise in the fire protection industry. The Instructional Designer will collaborate with subject matter experts, analyze learning needs, and design engaging and interactive instructional materials, using technology to enhance the learning process. This position involves a blend of creativity and a systematic approach to training, ensuring that the materials meet the diverse needs of our workforce.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify skill gaps and establish learning objectives.
• Design and develop instructional materials, including e-learning courses, instructor-led training, job aids, videos, and assessments.
• Utilize a variety of instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles to create engaging and effective learning experiences.
• Evaluate and assess the effectiveness of training programs through feedback and assessments.
• Continuously assess and improve existing training materials to ensure they meet the needs of the organization.
• Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in instructional design and e-learning.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
• Facilitate training sessions as needed.
• Other tasks and projects as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Human Resources, or related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in instructional design or a related role.
• Strong understanding of instructional design models and adult learning principles.
• Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Rise 360, Storyline, Loom) and learning management systems (LMS).
• Proficiency with video editing, multimedia production and graphic design tools.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong project management and organizational skills, with keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Creative and innovative mindset with a passion for learning and development.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in construction or other industry with a dispersed workforce.
