Job Description

Pay Rate: $20.00 to $25.00 per hour.

Position Purpose: 

Internships at Veolia: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Project Manager Intern to join our IT department for the summer. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in project management within a dynamic IT environment.

Internships are focused on learning and exposure to fundamental project management tasks.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Assist senior project managers in planning, executing, and closing IT projects.
• Help create and maintain project documentation, including project plans, schedules, and status reports.
• Participate in project meetings and contribute to discussions.
• Assist in tracking project progress, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Help identify and communicate potential risks or issues to the project team.
• Support the coordination of resources and team members across various IT projects.
• Assist in preparing presentations and reports for stakeholders.
• Assist in preparing and updating spreadsheets.
• Learn and apply project management methodologies and best practices.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management processes.
• Candidates may support up to 3 senior project managers.

Work Environment:

• Environments vary by internship function from office to field to plant.
• Our aim is to provide tangible industry job experience to each intern.

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background: 

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• Working towards a four-year degree and you have Senior status in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related major.
• 3.2 Cumulative G.P.A is required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 

• Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, listening, presentation and facilitation skills / Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships.
• Strong interest in project management and IT.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Proficiency in Google Apps (Google Sheets and Slides) or Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and PowerPoint).
• Basic understanding of project management concepts and methodologies.
• Familiarity with IT concepts and terminology is a plus.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
