Elevate Healthcare Staffing is a healthcare staffing agency committed to connecting skilled professionals with leading healthcare providers. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Medical Coder with expertise in CPT and ICD-9 coding to ensure accurate coding of medical procedures and diagnoses for insurance reimbursement and compliance.

The Medical Coder is responsible for reviewing medical records, assigning accurate CPT and ICD-9 codes, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. This role plays a crucial part in the billing process by translating healthcare services into standardized codes for proper reimbursement.

• Review and analyze patient medical records to determine the correct CPT and ICD-9 codes

• Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with federal regulations and insurance requirements

• Collaborate with physicians, billers, and other healthcare staff to clarify documentation

• Stay up to date with changes in medical coding guidelines and regulations

• Assist in resolving coding discrepancies and claim denials

• Maintain confidentiality and security of patient records in accordance with HIPAA regulations

• Perform audits and quality checks to ensure coding accuracy

• Certification in medical coding (CPC, CCS, or equivalent) preferred

• 2+ years of experience in medical coding with CPT and ICD-9 coding

• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and billing procedures

• Experience working with electronic health records (EHR) and billing software

• Understanding of insurance claims and reimbursement processes

• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
