Role Overview:  The Medical Receptionist is the first point of contact for patients and visitors at Elemental Care. This role is crucial in managing the front desk operations and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, capable of multitasking, and possess strong interpersonal skills to enhance the patient’s experience.

Requirements

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet and welcome patients and visitors in a warm and professional manner
  • Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments, ensuring optimal use of clinic resources.
  • Answer and direct phone calls, addressing inquiries or directing them to the appropriate department.
  • Verify patient insurance information and process necessary documentation.
  • Collect and process patient payments, co-pays, and fees.
  • Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and data entry.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  • Understand limits of responsibility by not providing medical advice to patients.

Essential Skills, Certifications, and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and scheduling software.
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology is advantageous.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
