Join us in shaping a new era in space and find a career that's built for you\. - - - As an authority on Survivability Engineering, you will be the technical team lead on applying hardening techniques in the development of the Next Generation Interceptor \(NGI\) missile\. This job will include the following responsibilities: - Technical authority on Nuclear Hardness and Survivability techniques - Guiding and mentoring junior survivability engineers in complex survivability engineering tasks - Be the primary technical advisor/consultant in survivability for program leadership and customers - Ensure that the military\-grade missile and space vehicle designs perform during and after exposure to natural and manmade radiation from the component through system levels - Use modeling techniques in the classified environment for radiation transport calculations, assess persistent man\-made environments, determine sensor performance, and assess overall system level survivability\. - Conduct technical planning, specification derivation, test planning and implementation, documentation, verification/validation to support overall system needs and act as a technical consultant for design teams and customers\. - Work with LM Space Enterprise Survivability Engineering group and other internal leading subject matter experts and mentor rising engineering talent on NGI and across Space\. - - - Successful applicants will typically possess 14\+ years of professional experience with a minimum education level of a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field - - - **Basic Qualifications:** **Required Skills:** - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field - Authority in Natural Space, Nuclear/Manmade Radiation Environments, or design hardness - Experience in software tools required for modeling natural and man\-made radiation environments **Security Clearance Requirements** - To meet requirements of the program/customer, this position requires the selected employee to be a U\.S\. Citizen\. - Selected candidates will be required to possess at minimum an Interim Secret clearance prior to starting employment\. - Selected candidates will be required to obtain, and maintain, a minimum clearance level of Top Secret for long\-term employment on this program\. **Desired Skills:** - 14\+ years experience in Natural Space and Nuclear/Manmade Radiation Environments, or design hardness - Rad Hard Space semiconductor or system hardening experience - Specialist in Radiation software tools \(e\.g\. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process\. **Work Schedules:** Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees\. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed\. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits\. **Schedule for this Position:** 9x80 every other Friday off **Pay Rate:** The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York \(excluding most major metropolitan areas\), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $122,900 \- $216,660\. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location\. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only\. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year\.
