Join our award winning team of dog trainers. All team members are employees. Fur-Get Me Not handles marketing, payroll, student registration and class management, training supplies, and billing. We have openings for Lead Dog Trainers and Assistant Dog Trainers to work across our various training services:
- Group classes include behavior (reactive, fear, impulse), Good Manners, and Enrichment (e.g. tricks, scent work, socialization). Group classes are offered on Saturdays (8am-3pm) and weekday evenings (4:30pm-9pm) at our Dog Training School in Arlington.
- Private lessons are offered at the customer's home, our facility, or virtually. These are scheduled based on the trainer's and customer's availability.
- On demand training is offered during the day on weekdays (typically 12pm-4pm) at either our facility or at the customer's home.
- Must be wiling to travel within our training service area for at home services: Alexandria, Arlington, Annandale, Fairfax, Falls Church, McLean, and various DC neighborhoods.
Lead Trainer Requirements:
- All candidates should have previous experience conducting private training sessions or group classes specifically related to basic manners.
- Some candidates may also have hands-on experience in behavior-specific (fear, anxiety, reactivity, etc) coaching.
- Candidate should be able to demonstrate a history of skills using positive training methods and promote these methods actively above all other forms of training. We will not hire trainers that train using punishment-based or "balanced training" methods. We only promote positive reinforcement methods.
- Candidates must agree to our core principles and goals, to meet clients and dogs where they are without judgement, and develop a mutual trust of relationship with their dogs.
- Professional and positive attitude with team members and clients. Candidates must equally enjoy working with people as they do with dogs.
- Actively seek continuing education to expand their behavior knowledge.
- Must have one of the below listed credentials
