What will you do?
- Under the direction of the Deputy Director of Policy & Strategic Direction manages multifaceted projects that directly support the mission & vision of the Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD): focuses on data driven policy development, research analysis & application product ownership, ensuring alignment with DODD objectives & compliance regulations: manage data projects (e.g., Outcome Tracking System, Restrictive Measures Notification, Rapid Response & Ohio ISP applications/projects, etc.) along with other data projects that specifically support new or revised policy initiatives from initiation through completion, including scope definition, timeline management, & resource allocation; ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget & meet standards; oversee contracts & grants necessary for data & analytics objectives; establish & manage data governance policies, ensuring robust review process for application needs; oversee product owners & data stewards to ensure alignment with DODDs mission; guide development & implementation of key applications & digital tools that support Policy & Strategic Direction goals; ensure data driven evidence informs policy evaluations & translates complex insights into actionable recommendations; define key objectives & performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of data initiatives; review & refine data models to align with changing business needs & objectives; leverage AI & automation tools to enhance policy data analysis & reporting efficiency; lead & manage a data analytics team, mentor team members on best practices, tools & methodologies in project management & data analytics; coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with DODD’s strategic objectives; cross-train team members to enhance overall operational support.
- Create & oversee the development of dashboards, reports & visualizations that effectively communicate findings to stakeholders; ensure reports are accessible & understandable for no-technical audiences; present actionable insights to senior leadership to influence policy & strategic business decisions; coordinate research on state & national trends to inform policy development & innovated practices, conducting in-depth data analysis to identify trends & ensure performance outcomes are met;
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify best practices, solutions & opportunities for improving service delivery & policy implementation; foster consistent communication across divisions to support an integrated approach to achieve organizational objectives; maintain open communication with stakeholders to ensure diverse contributions to policy development.; assist leadership in executing policy initiatives & strategic projects; performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications 4 yrs. exp. in project management (i.e., management & development of project/program requirements, design, development, testing/pilot, training & full scale implementation), with experience to be commensurate with project/program &/or position description on file (e.g., specific human service program area, management information sciences, fiscal); 12 mos. exp. in budgeting & calculating cost projections of program/projects.
- Or successful completion of 2 yrs. post-secondary education majoring in business administration, public administration, computer science/information technology, social science, or health, with major being commensurate with project to be assigned; 12 mos. exp. in budgeting & calculating cost projections of program/projects; 12 mos. exp. in project management (i.e., management & development of project/program requirements, design, development, testing/pilot, training & full scale implementation).
- Or 12 mos. exp. as Project Manager 1, 63381 or IT Project Manager 1, 63384.
- Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
