Job Title: Registered Nurse – Mother Baby (Day Shift)

Location: Healthcare Facilities Across NJ, NY & Upstate NY

Shift: Day Shift

Job Summary:

The Mother Baby Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized postpartum care for mothers and newborns. The RN ensures a smooth recovery for new mothers, supports breastfeeding, monitors infant well-being, and educates families on newborn care.

Responsibilities:

Provide postpartum care, monitoring the mother’s recovery after childbirth.
Perform newborn assessments, including vital signs and early developmental screenings.
Assist with breastfeeding and lactation support.
Educate parents on newborn care, feeding, and postpartum recovery.
Administer prescribed medications and pain management treatments.
Recognize and respond to postpartum complications, such as hemorrhage or infections.
Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, lactation consultants, and other healthcare professionals.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records (EHR).
Ensure compliance with hospital infection control and patient safety protocols.

Required Skills & Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a Mother Baby, Postpartum, or Labor & Delivery unit in an acute care hospital.
Strong knowledge of maternal and newborn health, including lactation support.

Education & Licensure:

Required Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN).
Preferred Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Required Certifications & Licensure:

Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (AHA)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – AHA
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – AHA
New Jersey State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license

Work Schedule:

Hours: 36 hours per week (3 x 12-hour shifts)
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift Availability: Day Shift
Requirements: Every other weekend, holiday shifts required, no on-call
