Job Description

This Research Assistant position requires multi-tasking to complete a variety of tasks in Wilmer's Low Vision clinic. Responsibilities of this position include recruiting research participants, coordinating research schedules, assisting with data collection and management, and writing papers. The position will also be involved in NIH funded projects.

Secondary responsibilities include running and writing reports and analyzing routine data. This position may use standard mathematical and statistical tools and computer programs to review data.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

• Data cleaning measures to ensure accuracy of data and preparation of tables.
• May lead small study efforts and develop processes for ensuring data collection can occur in effective and efficient manner.
• May conduct literature searches to support faculty in research efforts.
• Additionally, the Research Assistant has the opportunity to be lead or contributing author on conference presentations and publications.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.

• Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in a clinical office setting.
• Strong interpersonal skills and work ethics.
• Strong multi-tasking and time management skills.
• Public speaking skills for research advocacy.
• Comfortable with interacting with patients and recruiting participants a day-to-day.
• Past research experience with human subjects is advantageous.
