JOB DESCRIPTION:A full time, entry level position involving two studies of tissue culture and transgenic mouse models of Alzheimer's disease. The projects involves basic biochemistry, Western blot analysis, isolation of extracellular vesicles, and immunolabeling/histological analyses of mouse tissue. Behavioral assessments of mice will also be done. This position will support Dr. Mathews within the laboratory, although the highly qualified applicant will be able to develop greater research autonomy.JOB DUTIES: Animal handling, behavioral assessments. Biochemical analyses. Immunolabeling/histology of fixed tissue. Collection of data, including quantitative microscopic analyses of fixed immunolabeled tissue. General laboratory work/preparation. Cell culture.JOB QUALIFICATION:Minimum Qualifications:BA/BS in cellular and Molecular Neuroscience, or related biological fieldPreferred Qualifications: Experience handling small laboratory animals. Competence in Western blot analysis and/or tissue immunolabeling/histology helpful.
