Requirements

The Research Technician has two main functions:

  • Maintain a mouse colony and work with lab members to perform specific research projects that are funded through NIH grants related to Alzheimer's disease and chemotherapy-induced cognitive impairment. This research skills with laboratory animals and with databases, and interpersonal skills
  • Complete lab duties not directly related to laboratory research, including ordering lab supplies, taking care of common lab duties, organizing lab members for meetings, and overseeing regulatory requirements.




Work Interactions


The work performed by this position is directly related to the research mission of the University. The work will contribute to future applications for more funds to support research. The Rebeck lab has been successful at receiving federal and foundation funds, and continued success requires hiring the individuals to perform the supported research. The research may aid in the research of other labs at Georgetown through existing or nascent collaborations, but the main goals will be limited to Rebeck lab aims.



Requirements and Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree to perform the necessary work
  • Experience with mice is necessary
  • Other lab experience is useful, but most of those skills can be taught by current lab members

Pay Range:


The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$18.28 - $27.33


Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
