Job Title: Senior Jira Administrator with AWS Expertise

Location: Bellevue, WA / Parsippany, NJ ( Onsite )

Duration/Term: Long Term Contract

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Jira Administrator with strong expertise in AWS cloud infrastructure to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in administering and customizing Atlassian tools (Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence) while also possessing hands-on knowledge of AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3). This role requires a proactive problem-solver who can manage complex Jira configurations, optimize system performance, and ensure seamless integration between Jira and AWS environments. Strong communication skills and the ability to demonstrate genuine expertise during interviews are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Jira Administration (Primary Focus):

• Administer, configure, and optimize Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence to meet business needs.
• Customize Jira workflows, permissions, notifications, issue types, and dashboards.
• Manage and extend Jira functionality using plugins and add-ons (e.g., ScriptRunner, Structure, Advanced Roadmaps).
• Plan and execute migrations, upgrades, and optimizations for Jira and Confluence instances.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to Jira configurations, integrations, and performance.
• Provide technical support and training to users on Atlassian tools.

AWS Expertise (Secondary Focus):

• Manage and monitor AWS cloud infrastructure, including EC2 instances, S3 storage, and other AWS services.
• Collaborate with IT teams to integrate Jira with AWS environments for seamless operations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system-level issues related to AWS and Linux-based systems.
• Ensure high availability, security, and performance of AWS-hosted applications and services.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and implement solutions.
• Document processes, configurations, and best practices for Jira and AWS administration.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in Jira, AWS, and system administration.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Jira Administration:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in administering Jira Software and Jira Service Management.
• Expertise in customizing workflows, permissions, notifications, and dashboards.
• Experience with Jira plugins and add-ons (e.g., ScriptRunner, Structure, Advanced Roadmaps).
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex Jira issues.

AWS Expertise:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure (EC2, S3, etc.).
• Strong understanding of AWS services and their integration with applications.
• Experience troubleshooting and optimizing AWS-hosted systems.

System Administration:

• Proficiency in managing Linux-based systems (installation, configuration, troubleshooting).
• Strong troubleshooting skills for system-level issues.

General Skills:

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to demonstrate genuine expertise during interviews without relying on reading from the screen.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Atlassian certifications (e.g., ACP-100 Jira Administrator, ACP-120 Jira Service Management).
• AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS SysOps Administrator).
• Experience with scripting or automation (e.g., Bash, Python) for system and tool administration.
• Knowledge of ITIL practices for service management.

Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in Jira administration.
• 3+ years of experience in AWS cloud infrastructure.
