Shop Maintenance at metal tubing facility in Warren, MI. 

Job Summary:

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the upkeep, repair, and preventative maintenance of machinery, tools, and the general shop environment. This includes both specialized steel fabrication equipment and broader facility support to ensure a safe, clean, and efficient workspace.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and emergency maintenance on steel fabrication equipment (e.g., tube mills, saws, benders, welders).
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
• Conduct preventative maintenance to reduce equipment downtime.
• Install, relocate, or assist in setting up machinery and shop equipment.
• Perform general shop maintenance duties including:
  • Sweeping and cleaning work areas.
  • Maintaining lighting and replacing bulbs as needed. 
  • Minor plumbing and electrical repairs.
  • Inspecting and maintaining air compressors, ventilation, and HVAC systems.
  • Maintain tools, parts inventory, and accurate maintenance logs.
  • Monitor shop safety equipment and ensure proper signage and supplies are in place.
  • Work closely with production staff and supervisors to minimize production disruptions.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED; technical school or trade certification is a plus.
• 2+ years of industrial or mechanical maintenance experience (steel or metal industry preferred).
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems; electrical and welding experience a plus.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment.
• Reliable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
