Job Description

AECOM is seeking a  Sr. Project Manager TransitRail  position in the  Denver CO  office. This is a key position and will report to the  US West Region Transit/Rail Engineering Department .

JOB SUMMARY:

The position includes responsibility for business development management of transit studies preliminary design and final design of transit infrastructure projects including BRT LRT Streetcar Commuter Rail Heavy Rail and High Speed Rail throughout the western United States. Clients can include Colorado Department of Transportation City and County of Denver DART LA Metro BART Caltrains San Diego MTS UTA RTD and more. The successful candidate may be asked to serve as an AECOM team and/or discipline lead project manager and/or technical task leader on selected projects and will coordinate cooperate and work collaboratively with others in the AECOM US West Region.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
  • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and welldefined procedures.
  • Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
  • Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.
  • Identifies discrepancies in results.
  • Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
  • Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design
  • elements for engineering works.
  • Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position.

Qualifications :

  MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10 years of relevant experience
  • PE license in one or more states in the western US or ability to obtain
  • Experience with business development and client relations
  • Experience designing transit and transportation infrastructure
  • Experience with design software including MicroStation and GEOPAK and/or OpenRoads Track and manage task budgets and schedule
  • Demonstrate leadership skills and communication skills requiring client interaction
  • Ability to work with various multidisciplined teams is essential to this role
  • Provide indepth Quality Control and Quality Assurance for design/project management/program management.
  • Familiar with MS Office

Additional Information :

  • Travel may be required for this position.  
  • Offered rate of compensation (Colorado locations only) will be based on individual education qualifications experience and work location. The salary range for this position is $93000 $133000.
