About the Position

The Superintendent will be responsible for managing field operations for commercial concrete and masonry projects throughout the Newark area. This hands-on leader will oversee daily jobsite activities, ensure crews work safely and efficiently, coordinate materials and equipment, and maintain strong communication with project management and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise daily field operations for concrete and masonry projects.
  • Coordinate onsite workflow, manpower, equipment, and material needs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, union requirements, and company policies.
  • Read and interpret drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Work closely with Project Managers to maintain schedules and meet deadlines.
  • Communicate with owners, general contractors, inspectors, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to project specifications.
  • Monitor jobsite progress, identify potential issues, and implement solutions.
  • Oversee subcontractors and ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Document daily activities and maintain accurate field reports.

Requirements

  • 5+years of field leadership experience in commercial concrete or masonry construction.
  • Familiarity with union crews or willingness to work in a union environment.
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical construction documents.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to manage crews, coordinate resources, and maintain project timelines.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Knowledge of structural concrete, formwork, flatwork, foundations, and related scopes.
