**Overview** **Overview:** Cayuse Civil, LLC provides community focused technology solutions, program management, and business process services. Cayuse is seeking skilled and detailed- oriented Tagalog Translators to convert written materials from English to Tagalog while preserving meaning, tone and style. The ideal candidate has strong language proficiency, culture awareness and the ability to work efficiently under deadlines. _This position is in response to a Request for Proposal (RFP), and selected candidates will be asked to provide immediate translation support based on the RFP. Please note that any follow-on work will be contingent on the contract award._ **Responsibilities** **Job Responsibilities:** + Reading the original document (Source file) and translating it to Tagalog + Editing translated versions (Quality Review check, Proof reading, Editing) + Being sensitive to the culture of the original languages and the target languages during the translation process + Other duties as assigned. **Qualifications** **Minimum Job Skills and Qualifications:** + Fluency in both the source and target languages, with strong reading, writing skills (eg English to Tagalog) + Bachelor's degree in translation, Linguistics, a related field or equivalent experience. + Certification from a recognized translation organization (ATA,NAATI. preferred) + 5+years of professional translation experience / academic work/ work experience + Familiarity with translation tools (eg CAT tools- MemoQ,Trados or smart cart) + Understanding of industry-specific terminology (eg. Legal, medical, technical, state and local government, financial translations) + Ability to maintain accuracy, context and meaning while adapting cultural nuances + **Must be fluent in one or more of the following languages: Tagalog** + Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment **Minimum Skills:** + The ability to facilitate translation with discretion and impartiality. + Proficiency in written communication + A wide breadth of knowledge in a variety of topics + Proficient in Microsoft and Adobe toolsets, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc. Translation platform (MemoQ, Trados etc) + Highly motivated with the ability to handle and manage multiple tasks at any one time. **Reports to:** Deputy Program Manager **Working Conditions:** + Professional office environment. + On-call as needed + Translators will be notified within of potential job requests that come in and language is needed. + Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of this position. + Must be able to establish a productive and professional workspace. + Must be able to sit for long periods of time looking at computer screen. + May be asked to work a flexible schedule which may include holidays. + May be asked to work hours outside of normal business hours. **Other Duties:** _Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive list of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
