Job Description

The VISTA will support the continued implementation of our Talking is Teaching's Talk, Read, Sing Campaign - exploring expansion of outreach and focusing on large scale messaging to reach families. They will create engagement activities for the Lehigh Valley Early Childhood Coalition on topics of Talk, Read, Sing, kindergarten transition, early childhood public policy, and work towards a primary method of digital engagement. The goal is for the VISTA s capacity building work to result in a natural synergy that is fully solidified, making it easier for partners and communities to participate in UWGLV early childhood education resources, rather than creating new strategies frequently when new organizations want to participate. For example, healthcare partners will have a field framework built out: any hospital, doctor s office, clinic, etc. will be presented with the strategies outlined with UWGLV's goals that is universal in this space.

Responsibilities

• Support effective management of the Early Childhood Coalition, including communication, materials, etc.
• Lead production of our quarterly themes
• Lead strategy for the volunteer base of Talk, Read, Sing
• Create and support existing space transformations across the Greater Lehigh Valley, resulting in early literacy friendly environments.

Requirements
Able to commit to a volunteer service term with AmeriCorps VISTA.
At least 18 years old
Have a HS diploma or G.E.D.
Able to report in person for work in Lehigh, Northampton or Carbon counties.
Able to secure clearances to work with vulnerable populations (Act 153).
