Trades Apprentice - Lincoln, RI

Join our team as an Apprentice and embark on a rewarding career in the skilled trades! You'll play a vital role in assisting experienced HVAC Technicians, Plumbers, and Electricians on job sites, gaining valuable hands-on experience while contributing to the successful completion of projects. Essential Job Functions

  1. Learning & Development:

    • Actively participate in on-the-job training, observing and assisting experienced technicians with various tasks.

    • Learn to diagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions under the guidance of skilled professionals.

    • Assist with the repair or replacement of defective equipment, components, and wiring.

    • Gain practical knowledge in inspecting and testing systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.

  2. Supportive Tasks:

    • Assist with the preparation and cleanup of work areas.

    • Safely transport tools, materials, and equipment as directed.

    • Provide support to licensed technicians during customer service calls.

    • Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment in proper working order.

    • Assist with the organization and inventory of parts and supplies.

  3. Safety & Compliance:

    • Prioritize safety by adhering to all company safety guidelines and protocols.

    • Actively participate in safety training sessions to ensure a safe and secure work environment.

    • Utilize trade-specific tools and equipment safely and effectively.

  4. Documentation:

    • Learn to maintain accurate records of work performed, including time and materials used.

    • Report any observed faults, deficiencies, or unusual occurrences to supervisors promptly.

  5. Collaboration:

    • Work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues to achieve project goals.

    • Communicate clearly and professionally with supervisors, colleagues, and customers.

Required Skills & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Ideal candidates have a minimum of 1-2 years of experience

  • Completion of at least 1 year of a recognized trade school program is preferred.

  • Strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.

  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently when necessary.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions

  • Environment:

    • Work environment may involve moderate to loud noise levels.

    • May require occasional evening, weekend, or holiday work.

    • Work will be performed both indoors and outdoors, in various weather conditions.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods.

  • Must be able to lift and carry heavy objects, up to 75 pounds.

  • Requires manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

  • May involve working in confined spaces or at heights.
