We’re looking for a highly skilled Video Editor with an expertise in creating short-form content to create engaging videos for YouTube Shorts, TikTok, Instagram Reels, and Facebook Reels.

The hourly rate is $35 - $50 per hour depending on experience.

We use apps like Slack, FogBugz, GitHub, and Google Apps for our workflow.

Requirements

The ideal candidate understands social media trends, audience engagement strategies, and platform algorithms, and can produce high-energy, visually compelling videos that capture attention quickly.

While expertise in short-form video editing is the top priority, a strong understanding of WordPress and cybersecurity is a plus. 

Candidates with experience in tech-focused content, cybersecurity topics, or WordPress will be preferred.

• 1+ years of experience in video editing, with a strong portfolio showcasing short-form content.

• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, or similar editing software. (Davinci Resolve Preferred)

• Strong understanding of platform-specific trends, modern short form video best practices, engagement tactics, and viral content strategies.

• Experience with motion graphics, typography, and sound design.

• Experience with marketing metrics, analytics reporting, and brand goal and strategy alignment.

• Ability to manage multiple projects with fast turnaround times while maintaining high quality.

Preferred Skills & Knowledge:

• WordPress Expertise – Familiarity with WordPress, WordPress security, plugins (e.g., Wordfence), website management, and common vulnerabilities.

• Cybersecurity Knowledge – Understanding of cybersecurity concepts, malware, firewalls, and bug bounty programs.

• Tech & Software Knowledge – Experience editing educational or technical content, particularly in cybersecurity, web development, or IT-related fields.

Responsibilities:

• Edit and produce high-quality short-form videos optimized for TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and Facebook Reels.
• Utilize trending effects, motion graphics, text animations, and sound design to create engaging content.
• Repurpose long-form educational and technical content into bite-sized, shareable clips.
• Stay up to date with social media trends, video formats, and engagement tactics.
• Collaborate with content creators and our internal marketing team to align video content with brand objectives.
• Ensure videos are optimized for SEO, audience retention, and platform-specific performance metrics.
• Maintain a consistent visual style and brand identity across all content.
• Optimize for brand goals, strategy, and results, not just for views or viral potential.

Hiring Process

We review all applications submitted and respond to all candidates typically within one to two weeks. All interviews are done remotely with no travel involved.

All positions require a trial period of approximately 2-3 weeks with a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week. You will be paid for this short-term contract, and it will be used to evaluate whether both parties want to pursue an ongoing, regular employment relationship.

All offers of employment are contingent on successful completion of a background check. The results of the background check are considered as they relate to the position and do not automatically disqualify someone from an offer of employment with the company.
