This position is for a Critical Care Registered Nurse in a float pool capacity, rotating between ICU and PCU units on a 4-week block schedule. The role requires providing skilled nursing care in a fast-paced, trauma-level I or II facility. The successful candidate will possess strong clinical skills, effective communication abilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary team. Experience with EPIC software is mandatory.

Responsibilities:
- Providing skilled nursing care to critically ill patients in ICU and PCU settings.
- Performing patient assessments, medication administration, and treatment planning.
- Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Monitoring patient vital signs and responding to changes in patient condition.
- Administering treatments and therapies as ordered.
- Maintaining accurate and complete patient records.
- Participating in interdisciplinary rounds and care planning.
- Floating to various units within the hospital as needed.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of ICU experience.
- Experience in a Trauma Level I or II facility (Trauma Level I preferred).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system.
- Successful completion of a tele test administered on the first day of employment.
- COVID-19 vaccinations and booster required.
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ASN).
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Previous travel nursing experience.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Special Considerations:
- 36 hours per week, rotating 4-week blocks of 7a-7p and 7p-7a shifts, including every other weekend.
- Float pool assignment requires flexibility to work in various units.
- Candidates who have worked permanently or as travelers for any Beth Israel facility within the past 6 months are not eligible.
- Candidates must pass a tele test on their first day, or their assignment may be terminated.
- Facility does not accept certain candidate types (details omitted to comply with formatting rules).
Scheduling:
- 36 hours per week.
- Rotating 4-week blocks: 7 AM to 7 PM, then 7 PM to 7 AM.
- Every other weekend rotation.
