Job Title: Cyber Security Specialist(Hybrid)
Location : Lexington, MA
Job Type : W2 Contract
Background: Vulnerability Management (VM) team who are responsible for operating the Laboratory’s Vulnerability Management Program. The program’s framework operates roles in knowledge base, scanning, reporting, collaboration, enterprise services and task board. Expertise working with Tenable Security Center and data analytics are fundamental requirements. Additional duties include, organizing and leading vulnerability management working groups that objectively measure, facilitate collaborative discussion that prioritize actions and timelines to address VM actions
Must Have: • Working knowledge of IT security best practices as well as a high degree of troubleshooting skills to quickly diagnose and resolve issues required
• Demonstrated technical depth with multiple Operating Systems (OS) (Windows, Linux, Mac)
• Demonstrated proficiency and hands-on experience with vulnerability remediation across multiple Operating System (OS) platforms to include Linux, Mac and Windows
• Demonstrated proficiency with data analytics and supporting working groups
• Cyber Monitoring
• Cyber security operations systems best practices
• Experienced with security compliance and operational processes
• Experience working in cybersecurity
• Nessus Security Center (or ACAS, Tenable’s Security Center)
• NIST 800-171
• Security Assessments, Tests, and Reviews
• Excellent customer service skills and exceptional customer facing skills
• Excellent communication (both oral and writing) and organizational skills
Nice to have: • Ability to work analytically in a problem-solving environment
• Ability to review, interpret and translate data as it relates to vulnerability remediation
• Ability to learn new technologies and disciplines quickly
• Perform in a fast-paced environment at times with minimal supervision and execute project and administrative tasks with a high degree of quality, while following existing processes and establishing new operational procedures and best practices along with handling multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize and meet deadlines
• Ability to work with members of other teams and staff to achieve department and organizational goals
• Perform all related duties as assigned.
Work from home: Candidate will be able to work predominantly remote with a final schedule TBD by hiring manager. This individual should be within about a 2 hour driving distance; they will work remote but must be flexible to come to the Lab a few times a month as needed.
Experience : 5 years of relevant work experience.
