We are currently seeking a SENIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER to join our SAN DIEGO, CA office! This individual will be responsible for the design and presentation of multiple small or large interior design projects and consistently leads innovative and inspiring design concepts. from schematic design tasks through design development. They will also plan, design, and furnish interiors for several market sectors, including Housing, Healthcare, Commercial, and Education.

This is a hybrid position, requiring a minimum of 3 days per week onsite at our San Diego, CA office.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops and represents lead design viewpoint on projects.
  • Collaborate with senior staff to generate architectural concepts for interiors projects, including full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating interior design assignments.
  • Plan and design interior aspects of large or multiple projects by developing appropriate concepts and approaches.  
  • Perform analyses of design, planning and occupancy studies, and limited design layouts
  • Provide subject matter expertise on specific components of Interior Design. 
  • Collaborate with senior staff to generate architectural concepts for interiors projects, including full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating interior design assignments.
  • Plan and design interior aspects of large or multiple projects by developing appropriate concepts and approaches.  
  • Independently work within budget, within the project scope and monitors adherence to project requirements
  • Successfully produce designs for assigned projects through Conceptual Design and Schematic Design for the most complex projects.
  • Carry out Interior Design assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques or design for the most complex projects.
  • Collaborate with the project manager, architect and consultants. Independently apply advanced interior design concepts for the most complex projects
  • Can be relied upon to present design solutions directly to the client
  • Coordinate with Director on appropriate technical solutions and strategies.
  • Advise, inspire and mentor Interior Designers and project teams
  • Recommend design solution for complex interior design issues

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills
  • Knowledge and interest in industry standards and design process
  • Able to design, input documentation, and meet with representatives to ensure client’s needs are met based on our company’s brand guidelines
  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Revit, SketchUp modeling ; experience in AutoCAD a plus
  • Self-motivated; ability to work independently and in a team environment to coordinate with other design professionals
  • Self-confident; tenacious while maintaining positive working relationships with clients, outside consultants, and technical staff
  • Agile, creative thinker, with an interest in the details 
  • Excellent problem solver with good listening skills and strong follow-through
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and collaborative skills
  • Passionate about building a library of finish and fixture selections

 

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, & CERTIFICATION:

  • 8+ years of experience performing interior design projects for various building types
  • Bachelor's degree in interior design
  • Experience in the preparation of presentation materials and meeting with clients to establish interior design goals for the projects
  • Certification as a licensed professional is preferred but not required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States without any restrictions. Please note that visa sponsorship is not offered for this position.

We offer a competitive compensation package based on experience and qualifications. Excellent benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage. Salary range: Starting salary $110,000 to $130,000 depending on qualifications. Placement within this pay range will be determined by factors such as education, qualifications, project complexity and/or experience. The maximum is reserved for candidates who currently meet all job requirements.
